Spectacle

under the guise
of the flashing eyes
the freaks gather
in coats of glamour
to flaunt and flourish
figures tan and malnourished
adorned in feathers
rubies and leathers
horned tresses and lips
opened to a white eclipse
a gaping wound
dipped in red and crowned
with empty eyes masked in delight



as wealth douses plight
and those who walk on blood
succumb to the hungry flood
of vultures pleading
infatuated and bleeding
for this plastic existence
stares blank and distanced
gathering like flies
rich in the glow of lies
rooted down and apoplectical  
as they drink in the spectacle
